Colwood Garden Society

 

The Colwood Garden Society was created in 2014 and operates with the full support of the City of Colwood under a lease agreement. They graciously donated the land at Colwood City Hall. The Colwood Garden Society is a not-for-profit, incorporated under the British Columbia Society Act, # S-0062523.

Membership is open to Colwood and Westshore residents only. Become a member.

Currently, we have approximately 34 garden plots, most are raised bed design.

  • 2 are dedicated to Wishart Elementary students and are educational and experiential
  • 2 produce food for Living Edge Neighbourhood Market in Langford
  • There is a spiral herb garden for members
  • A nascent orchard with four young trees: apple, pear, peach, and olive
  •  2 are in-design for handicap accessLiving Edge Neighbourhood Market on Goldstream

Future Plans

  • Garden shed and accessibility upgrades to paths and gates
  • Native plant perimeter garden

Plots are leased annually from January to December. When a plot becomes available, we will go through the wait list on a first-come basis.

Digital strategist at Gardens British Columbia, and previously an digital marketer at The Butchart Gardens.  Scott also has his own Digital Strategy| SEO | WordPress | Social Média Marketing agency, ScottinColwood.ca Digital. Scott is a garden enthusiast, writes about garden tourism, and is wildly enthusiastic about his community. Scott can usually be found tending his garden, discovering something new about Colwood, or exploring a garden, beach or forest, even though he has been there uncountable times before. Scott was a Canada 150 Community Leader for the City of Colwood, is a member of Garden Communicators International, formerly the Garden Writers Association, and sits on a number of local boards, such as the Victoria Nikkei Cultural Society.
